US, Russia and China are the three super powers. They came together because of nuclear weapons they each had. I lived during the Cold War, so it was current events, not history. I practiced duck and cover drills in elementary school. One day when the siren blew, our mothers came to pick us up and drive us out of town for an evacuation drill.
The Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas was originally built to deal with radioactive emergencies. The reason it was built with two sublevels is because all patients at that time could be brought below ground. All the operating rooms and testing facilities were below ground. There was a decontamination shower and you had to enter the building at right angles becuase radition can not go at right angles. I learned all of this because I was a hospital volunteer in high school, a “blue jay.”
The three main powers were the united states, russia, and china . the reason they came together was because of the nuclear weapons they had built to destroy each other. kennedys speech was interesting because it talked alot about what the nuclear weapons and how we are suppose to avoid them by the duck and cover move.

I’ve heard that the Cuban Missile Crisis caused Americans to be overly peranoid. They created evacuation drills to be more prepared if they were bombed but in all reality it woudn’t help.

china, russia, and the united sates were the supeior countries that had contaid nuclear power. they had intrest in a nuclear war after several atempts they felt that now that they had nuclear power each thought they should expand their country by threats against eachother. in the speech presedent kennedy was trying to assure to his citezens not to be affriad and that he was doing everything in his power to assure safty.

what ive learned about the cuban missle crisis was of the U.S.s’ attempt to contain communism and in Fidel Castro’s (cuba) rage they joined up with Nikita (soviet Union)and nikita provided missles to Cuba to point at the U.S.
i am still wondering why put so many lives in danger for selfish desires and of infantile reactions. and why can there be no parley of some sort, instead of threats that can’t be controlled before its out of reach to stop.
the three ppl involved in the cuban missile crisis were the u.s. cuba and the soviet union. i believe that the whoe thing started when the u.s. went to go kill fidel castro which angered the soviet union cuz both cuba and themselves were communist countries. so they started to ship weapons to cuba causing the whole scare.
i kno the cuban missile crisis was a conflict with the united states, russia (USSR) and cuba. the united states had missiles in turkey aiming at russia. so Nakita Krushchev had missiles being built in cuba so if an attack was necessary the missiles would be able to hit any city in the united states in a matter of 16 minutes.

the U.S., U.K., U.S.S.R., china, were the superpowers. the cuban missile crisis was when Russia was going to supply cuba with nuclear weapons, but the U.S. prevailed and made Russia back down. Why Russia backed off when they had better range to the U.S. then the U.S. had on Russia.

I think Kennedy was wrong to say that because we don’t have a right to have missiles but we still do why can’t they have them. And Russia also has the right to put nuclear missiles there because we had our missiles in turkey in reach of russia. and once more I’m sleepy
I think the missile crisis was a very difficult conflict in where russia china cuba + the u.s. were involved…I’m not really sure why they put humans lives in danger + I’m not sure why the countries came together????
I think that the speech given by JFK was very well worded. I think that was a very smart move to ban all ships going to Cuba. I wonder why the nuclear bomb was the only way out! I think the Cuban Missile Crisis was a huge ordeal that had to be handled.
I think that John F. Kennedy did not have a right to say that cuba could not have missiles. JFK used the term propaganda to make others believe that what he said was either right or true.

I think John F. Kennedy handeled this situation very well by stopping all the ships to cuba so that they could not set up their nuclear weapons. I think John F. Kennedy’s speech described this situation very well and just handled this problem in the best way he could.
